TIP CARD REQUIREMENT FOR ANYONE ATTENDING A DRIVERS ED CLASS:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Prior to attending the\u00a0first day of any in-person Driver\u2019s Education class,\u00a0your teen must obtain the\u00a0Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP card)\u00a0 from the Office of Motor Vehicles. This rule applies to anyone in the State of Louisiana (regardless of age) that wishes to obtain a Drivers License, both Teens and Adults. The TIP card can only be obtained by going to the DMV with your child,\u00a0you cannot go on their behalf.<\/p>\n

AGE REQUIREMENT REMINDER<\/u>:\u00a0<\/b>Please be cognizant of your child\u2019s age at the time they will be attending Driver\u2019s Education class. It is important that your child is\/will be enrolled in the correct course.\u00a0 The 38 hour teen driving course is designed for students that are between the ages of 14 years and 9 months to 17 years of age. If your child is 18 years or older\u00a0on the first day of class, you will be turned away as anyone 18 years and older must enroll in the Adult Driver\u2019s Education course. This is a rule established by the Louisiana OMV.<\/p>\n

DMV LOCATIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY\u00a0<\/b>and you will be turned away if you show up without an appointment. You may make an appointment by visiting the Louisiana OMV website<\/a>.\u00a0You will find the most up-to-date information on DMV locations that are open, accepted documents, etc. Please do not delay in going to the DMV and waiting until the last minute.\u00a0You may schedule an appointment online ahead of time.\u00a0 When you visit the DMV website, look for \u201cBook Appointment\u201d and follow the prompts to select a DMV location. You will want to make an appointment for a \u201cFirst Time Drivers License\u201d to get the TIP card.<\/p>\n

**On the first day of class, a parent\/legal guardian (no siblings, grandmothers, uncles, etc) and the student must arrive at\u00a08:15 am\u00a0to complete all paperwork required by the State of Louisiana<\/strong><\/p>\n

This class is required by students ages 14 years (& 9 months) through 17 years for a learners permit in Louisiana. Our 38 Hour Driving Course is a two-phase program consisting of: (1) 30 hours of classroom instruction and (2) Behind-the-wheel instruction for 8 hours.\u00a0 These lessons are divided into four (4) two-hour lessons.<\/p>\n

The course will build a solid foundation of knowledge and practice for students by teaching laws of the road with emphasis on the effects of alcohol, drugs, driving distractions, and much more.<\/p>\n

Coach\u2019s Driving Academy provides pick up and delivery of all our students within our driving area for the driving portion of behind the wheel training.\u00a0 We can pick up students from school or home.\u00a0We schedule behind the wheel training 7 days a week and have morning, afternoon, and evening lessons available.<\/p>\n

All deposits are Non-refundable & Non-transferable.\u00a0 Deposit will be deducted from final payment. Classroom instruction, all course-related tests, and Instructional drives must be completed within\u00a0six months\u00a0of registering for a specific class date. Refunds, for any reason, are not given once classroom instruction has started.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Behavior that is disrupting or a distraction to other students and\/or instructors will result in the guilty party being dismissed from class. Students dismissed from class will forfeit the entire class fee with no refunds given.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
