  • The Krewe of Titans parade will begin at the intersection of Spartan Drive and Highway 11.<\/li>\n
  • The krewe will follow 11 all the way up to Highway 190 (Gause), where the parade will turn to the east (right).<\/li>\n
  • From 190, the parade will end just east of the intersection for Highway 190 and Kensington Boulevard (Rouses).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

    The Krewe of Titans parade takes place in Slidell on the New Orleans Northshore. In Greek mythology, Titans were immortal giants of incredible strength who had deep knowledge of old religion rituals and magic. Before the Olympians came into power, the Titans ruled the cosmos.<\/p>\n

    Founded in 2009 by a group of Mardi Gras veterans, The Krewe of Titans is a co-ed krewe composed of 500+ members. Throws include cups with the Krewe of Titans logo, medallion beads, footballs, t-shirts, lighted tambourines, foam batons and necklaces. The organization prides itself on providing a traditional New Orleans Mardi Gras experience in a family friendly atmosphere. Along with a parade, members enjoy the Titans Mardi Gras Ball and the Titans Mardi Gras Coronation.<\/p>\n

    • Take inventory of your throws<\/strong> and be sure you have enough for the entire parade. This is also the moment where you PROMISED<\/strong> yourself you wouldn\u2019t buy any more throws\u2026 but let\u2019s be real with each other.<\/li>\n
    • Keep it family-friendly!<\/strong> No lewd or crude items! Keep it classy for the kids and respect the family atmosphere!<\/li>\n
    • Plan your throws based on the Parade Route!<\/strong> Pro-tip: Color-code your bags with ribbon for an easy throw strategy! Use purple for Pontchartrain, green for Front Street, and gold for Gause\u2014or pick your own colors! If you\u2019re on Pontchartrain and run out of throws from your purple-marked bags, take a break\u2014wash, rinse, repeat! Keep the fun going without running completely out too soon.<\/li>\n
    • Order these items:<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Ice Chest: LEAK PROOF COOLERS ONLY PLEASE!<\/strong> If there is leaking from
      your cooler at any point during the ride, immediately place it in a garbage bag
      to gather the liquid. Do not let the liquid just run on the float floor. Pro
      tip: Use frozen water bottles or ice packs in leak-proof coolers. Get your

      \u2022 Portable Phone Charger:<\/strong> There is nowhere to charge your phone and you
      want to capture all the moments, post to social media, go live, and text
      friends! Pro-tip: Be sure to tag the Krewe\u2019s public page when posting! And
      pick up a charger with built in cords like this one: PHONE CHARGER<\/strong>
      \u2022 Hand Warmers:<\/strong> Check the weather and order Hot Hands or Rechargeable
      Warmers from Academy or Amazon if needed! You never know when a
      blizzard will hit SELA! Recommended: HOT HANDS<\/strong>
      \u2022 Clear Poncho:<\/strong> Be parade-ready, rain or shine! Clear ponchos are the only
      thing allowed over our tunics if necessary! Available on Amazon or

      \u2022 Warm Clothes:<\/strong> If it\u2019s cold, wear a long-sleeve shirt, thermal, or
      hoodie UNDER your tunic. Sweatpants can be worn over or thermal under
      legwear!
      \u2022 Blanket: An Emergency Warming Blanket<\/strong> is recommended if needed\u2014you
      can use this on your bottom half during the ride to stay warm but be sure you
      do not cover your tunic! These can be ordered from Amazon here: WARMING <\/strong>

      \u2022 Personal Care:<\/strong> Pack travel toothbrush, gum, mints, contact lens
      solution, mouthwash or any other personal hygiene items if you desire\u2014
      there is no access to these types of items once you are at the park!
      \u2022 A Personal First Aid Kit:<\/strong> Because you never know! You can find that

      \u2022 Tunic & Headpiece Check:<\/strong> Try everything on, make final tweaks, and follow
      the directions for how your costume is expected to appear from your float
      Lieutenant! TUNICS MUST BE WORN FOR THE ENTIRE ROUTE!<\/strong>
      Nothing should obstruct the view of your tunic at any time. This is a <\/strong>
      requirement\u2014wear it proudly and enjoy the ride! If you have not received your <\/strong>
      items from your Lieutenant, you will soon and refer to them for questions about <\/strong>
      these!<\/strong>
      \u2022 Float Hooks:<\/strong> Do not add any additional hooks or screw anything into the floats.
      Use only the hooks provided. But if you want more hooks and want a option for some
      that do not need to be screwed in you can find that at Amazon.
      \u2022 Stay Updated:<\/strong> Watch for messages from your Float Lieutenant and check
      the Member\u2019s page for any last-minute changes or updates!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \u2022Wednesday Night:<\/strong> Tune in to the Titans\u2019 public Facebook page to watch thefloats roll from the den to the park! We\u2019ll announce the time once we receive confirmation from the float builder and the Slidell Police Department. Do NOT try to come to the park\u2014you will not be allowed in! There are a lot of moving parts this night and we have to do it this way for safety.
      \n\u2022Gather ALL float load items<\/strong>\u2014it\u2019s almost time!
      \n\u2022Finalize last-minute costume details<\/strong>. Make sure everything looks good, feelsgood, and fits well.
      \n\u2022Confirm float load times with your Lieutenant!<\/strong> Nothing can be loaded until you get the OK from them! They are in charge of the float for DJ loading, any last construction details, and rider float loading.<\/p>\n

      Essentials for Float Load:<\/strong>
      \n\u2022Transport for Throws:<\/strong> Bring a wagon to haul throws from the car to the float. Don\u2019t hesitate to ask for help during float loading if you need it\u2014there\u2019s always someone willing to lend a hand!!! Find a Foldable Wagon Here
      \n\u2022Cleanup:<\/strong> Bring garbage bags! DO NOT leave trash on the float! Trash receptacle locations in the park will be announced at the pre-parade meeting and will also be designated on the park map.
      \n\u2022Gear:<\/strong> Pack rubber gloves, hand wipes, scissors, flashlights, stick-up lights, harnesses (optional), and a tarp to protect your throws from dew or rain(optional).
      \n\u2022Organization:<\/strong> Pack throws for easy access! Use only provided hooks\u2014Please remember that no additional hooks or screws may be added to the floats under any circumstances. Also, no boxes are allowed.
      \n\u2022Cup Holder:<\/strong> These are a lifesaver! Pro-tip: Search \u201cclamp desk cup holder\u201d on Amazon! Look for the one with the tightening clamp. You are welcome. Cup Holder 1 Cup Holder 2

      \u2022Pace Yourself:<\/strong> It\u2019s a marathon, not a sprint! We are here for a goodtime and a long time!!
      \n\u2022Stay Hydrated:<\/strong> Alternate between drinks & water! Pro-tip:<\/strong> Pack some electrolytes to keep you hydrated. You can pick up single serves for yourself and to share. This is a possibility: Electrolytes<\/strong>
      \n\u2022 Eat!<\/strong> Keep your energy up throughout the day! With all the fun (and maybe a drink or two), it\u2019s important to eat. Pro-tip: Be sure to have a solid meal before heading out to the park.
      \n\u2022Bathroom Pro-Tip:<\/strong> Use the restroom before boarding! While there are portolets on the floats, moving around and navigating the path to them can be tricky, so access may be limited once you\u2019re on board. Plan ahead to stay comfortable throughout the ride!\u201d
      \n\u2022Toasting of the King & Queen:<\/strong> The toast to the King and Queen will take place at 4:00 PM at their floats! (refer to the float map) This is a special tradition you won\u2019t want to miss. Pro-tip:<\/strong> If you head over a little early you may be able to take photos with the King and Queen in their regal attire, just ask\u2014they\u2019ll be more than happy to accommodate! It\u2019s a great opportunity to capture a special moment before the toast at 4:00 PM. Don\u2019t forget to bring a drink for the toast and your camera to capture this special time! Once the toast is complete, head straight to your float.
      \n\u2022Once you are back at your float,<\/strong> Slidell Police will announce \u2018Riders Up!<\/strong>\u2018 Be at your float and ready to board for the ride! Pro-tip:<\/strong> They WILL NOT<\/strong> come looking for you if you are not there, so don\u2019t miss the announcement!<\/p>\n

      • Boarding Info:<\/strong> Once the boarding announcement is made, the doors will be locked and WILL NOT unlock until the ride is over! Make sure you have everything you need beforehand. Pro-tip:<\/strong> Save your Lieutenant\u2019s phone number for any updates!
        \n\u2022Tunics & headwear<\/strong> must remain on for the entire ride! The city will have parade monitors stationed throughout the route, and fines will be enforced for non-compliance. Keep your tunic on and enjoy the ride
        \n\u2022During transportation from SBBA to Spartan Drive<\/strong>, all riders must remain on the lower level. No one is allowed on the top level during this ride due to low-lying limbs and electrical wires along the route. Once we come to a complete stop on Spartan Drive, upper-level riders may take their positions.
        \n\u2022SPARTAN DRIVE IS A NO-THROW ZONE!<\/strong> This is a city ordinance\u2014do NOT throw anything until the float is fully committed to Pontchartrain Drive. Pro-tip: Some spectators may fuss, but do not engage in any altercations. Keep the energy fun and festive!
        \n\u2022No vaping or smoking on the floats!<\/strong> Per city ordinance, fines will be enforced by the city and pursued by the Krewe. Respect the rules and have a fantastic ride!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        After The Ride...<\/span><\/span><\/h3><\/header><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

        \u2022DO NOT exit the float<\/strong> until it has come to a complete stop AND your Lieutenant confirms and announces that you are at your final stopping point on Kensington Boulevard! This is crucial, as the float may need to stop and go before reaching its final position. Stay put and be on alert so that you stay safe!
        \n\u2022Unload immediately!<\/strong> The float must return to the den quickly\u2014NO LINGERING!<\/strong> Once you unload, please clear the area as soon as possible. Other floats may be entering the area, so stay on high alert. Safety first!<\/p>\n
