In New Orleans we find a mesmerizing mixture of cultures, history, language, architecture, cuisine, libations, beauty, soul, jazz, coffee, streetcars, artists, sculpture, museums, gardens, stately oaks, heady blooms, wildlife, fishing, football, cheering, faith, prayer, cathedrals, and saints. This website hopes to visit and celebrate all of those gifts with the world. Please join us and share your own gifts with us, here at NOLA Art Group.
This website is hosted by Linda “O’Paddy” St. Cyr.
O’Paddy is a name I picked up at a St. Patrick’s Day parade in New Orleans. As soon as I walked into the party, the host dubbed me – and everyone else walking in – by adding O’ in front of my last name. “Today, you’re Irish!,” he’d proclaim. Oh!, I thought, O’ . . . Paddy! I’m all about St. Patrick. Why, that patron saint is the whole reason I am Catholic today! Because, you know, I am Irish. Well, that and a bunch of other American things.
I love New Orleans, and art, and music. I’m consumed with the things that make our lives more beautiful as we move through the city on the way back and forth to commerce, offices, markets, family, and every kind of routine destination. I hope to engage you in some of my encounters along the way.
