After You Win Your Disability Case
Winning your disability case is a major step—but it’s not the end of the process. Many clients still have questions about when payments begin, how much they’ll receive, and what benefits they may qualify for moving forward.
At Magnolia Disability Law, we don’t disappear after your case is approved. We help you understand what comes next so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.
What to Expect After Approval
Once your claim is approved, there are still a few important steps before you begin receiving benefits.
Benefit Payments
You may receive back pay covering the time you were disabled before approval. Ongoing monthly payments typically begin shortly after your case is processed.
Timing
It can take several weeks—or sometimes a few months—for the Social Security Administration to finalize your payment details.
Medical Coverage
- SSDI recipients typically become eligible for Medicare after a waiting period
- SSI recipients may qualify for Medicaid right away

Continuing Disability Reviews (CDRs)
Your case may be reviewed periodically to confirm that you still meet disability requirements.
Work Limitations
Returning to work can impact your benefits. It’s important to understand the rules before starting any employment.
We’re here to answer questions and help you avoid mistakes that could affect your benefits.

Medicare Coverage Options
If you qualify for Medicare, choosing the right plan matters. Coverage options can vary, and selecting the wrong one can cost you.
We recommend reviewing your options through Medicare Mall, a resource designed to help individuals compare plans and find coverage that fits their needs and budget.

After your case is approved, you may benefit from additional support services and information. Here are some helpful resources:
